Benefits of Membership

Membership of the Badham One Name Society offers:

·        Access to the research that others have already covered, saving time or providing that missing piece - linking up with others known to be researching the same branch.

·        Access to a computer database containing records of Badhams and their relatives, mostly indexed from Parish Records, Census Returns, Wills and General Register Office indexes.

·        The 3rd edition of the CD-Rom of information from the Society databases with over 52,000 index entries is now available.

·        B1NS Journal published March and September. Covers significant research undertaken by members, new research initiatives and broader issues related to information gathering and genealogical research. Highly Commended in the Federation of Family History Societies Elizabeth Simpson Award for encouraging excellence in family history journals.

·        B1NS Newsletter published June and December. Covers Society business and more informal news and snippets of Badham-related information and images sent in by members.

·        Annual Conference and AGM (also open to non-members) which tends to focus on the history of Badham families in the location of the Conference. It provides the opportunity to meet with others, to share and study information, to consult the Society's database and perhaps discover a new relative. The preceding day usually involves visits to places of interest which have Badham connections and a chance to socialise during the day and in the evening.

·        Access to the Members’ Only area of the website, which provides online access to B1NS Journals and Newsletters, current list of members’ names, their research interests and how to contact them. On the other hand, membership supports the activities of the Society, especially further research, and is much appreciated.
